Cozy games worth an evening

Not every game needs to test you. Some of my favourite mobile sessions are the quiet ones — a farming sim, a slow adventure, something with no failure state to speak of.

Orchard Keeper is my current comfort pick. No timers screaming at you, no punishment for logging off for a week. You prune trees, you chat to neighbours, the seasons turn. It's the digital equivalent of tidying a shelf.

Hollow Lantern scratches a different itch. It's cozy in mood but has real puzzles, so your brain stays gently engaged without any stress. The watercolour art alone makes it worth the download.

The trick with cozy games is honesty about pacing. The good ones know they're a wind-down activity and build around that. The bad ones sneak in engagement mechanics that turn relaxation into a chore. Stick with the honest ones.
